Announcements: March 2008: Throughout the month of March, 2008, Congregation Beth Jacob will be performing tzedakah by donating basic, non-perishable food items to a carbondale food pantry. So when you come to the Temple, please place items in the basket in the front lobby where, at the end of the month, all donations will be taken to them. Sunday, February 24, 2008: Rabbi Lynn Goldstein will be holding a discussion on the modern day history of Israel. We will have a lunch with cold cuts from St. Louis beginning at 12:00 noon at the Temple. If you have not already done so, please e-mail Lenny Gross with your reservation. Thursday, February 21, 2008 and continuing: The First Christian Church of Carbondale has a women's study group called Mary and Martha. They are reading "The Faith Club: A Muslim, A Christian, A Jew -- Three Women Search for Understanding " and they would like to invite any women from other congregations or faith traditions to join them in exploring this book about three women - a Muslim, Christian, and Jew - in search of understanding. The book is widely available and costs about $12.  Their first meeting is Feb. 21, 2008. Any woman is welcome to join them, or alternatively consider this book for study in their own congregations in advance of Interfaith Week 2008, which is April 6-12, 2008.
