June 1 –The SiMoKy Federation will participate in "Walk the Land." Worldwide walks are now being undertaken to celebrate Israel's 60th birthday and to help "foster a sense of worldwide unity in support of Israel, cherished homeland of the Jewish people. It is a one mile walk. A complete list of participating communities all over the world can be found at the Walk the Land website. Our particular section of that web site is listed as "Paducah, Kentucky."
Our walk will take place at Bob Nobel Park in Paducah on Sunday, June 1st at 1:00 pm. We will leave from shelter #16. Click the image at the left for more information or call 314-956-9247.

Feb. 16 – "Eggplants in the Jewish Kitchen" – cooking workshop with Israeli Chef, Avi Sekerel, Carbondale.
March 5 – Israeli TV journalist, Sagi Bashan, SIUC Law School, Main Auditorium, 6:00 pm. Reception follows. (Informational Flyer). Admission is free, everyone is welcome.
March 6 – Israeli TV journalist, Sagi Bashan, Murray State University, Faculty Hall, Room 208, 7:00 pm. Admission is free, everyone is welcome.
April 8 – Dr. Inon Schenkar will be lecturing on Tikkun Olam (Israeli humanitarian aid missions to different disaster-stricken areas of the world) at the SIUC Student Center, Mississippi Room, 5:00 pm. (Informational Flyer)
May 4 - In celebration of Israel's 60th Year, our big Israeli @ 60 event will be a large Israeli Festival in Carbondale's Civic Center on May 4th from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Come and enjoy Israeli music, food, folk dancing, arts and crafts, films, and fun activities for the whole family. There will also be tables to buy authentic gifts and souvenirs from Israel, as well as other items. Only $5 per person, with kids 12 and under free!
